Instructors
Instructors are Sherry Jaqua, Sonya Bailey and Alex Haas. Sherry JaquaSherry Jaqua is an ACE certified group fitness instructor. Sherry has been involved in fitness throughout her life, as a soccer athlete, hiker, cyclist and mountain climber. Hailing from the Midwest, she was drawn to the fabulous outdoor opportunities in the Northwest in the early '90s. Sherry finds the group fitness setting inspirational and has participated in marathons through Team in Training (Leukemia/Lymphoma Society,) the Century Ride in Tucson, and the Danskin Sprint Triathlon. As a nutrition specialist, Sherry sees exercise as a critical part of overall health, well-being and longevity. Her main goal as an instructor is to give her participants tools for fitness that they can incorporate into their daily lives. Sherry will motivate clients to achieve their goals while making new friends, being part of a community and ultimately taking advantage of all the outdoors has to offer. Sonya BaileySonya Bailey has always had a passion for fitness and helping others, which is why she finds being a personal trainer and bootcamp instructor fulfilling both personally and professionally. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Idaho and is certified as a personal trainer through the prestigious National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition to her two and a half years of personal training experience, Sonya has been involved in the fitness industry through a variety of roles: as a Curves District Manager, a bootcamp instructor and as an avid runner. She has finished in the top 10% in ten local half marathons and finished as 4th Place Female 10k in the World's Longest Beach Run. In her work with clients, Sonya places special emphasis on postural/core training, endurance and functional fitness. Her belief is that participants can develop a connection between mind and body so that they can enjoy efficient and successful workouts, ultimately challenging themselves to reach their highest goals. Alexandria (Alex) HaasAlex has always enjoyed exercise through running, cycling, swimming and aerobics. She was particularly motivated to ramp it up after having a baby, (the result of which was a beautiful girl and fifty unwanted pounds,) and so began her foray into the fitness industry. Alex is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Group Fitness Instructor with experience teaching a variety of class formats at local health clubs, including step aerobics, kickboxing, cardio, strength and core conditioning. In addition to her fitness training and experiences, Alex's work is informed by her background as a public schools educator. She believes that everyone can succeed in a fitness program if their individual needs are met with encouragement and a challenging, yet positive, experience. What We Do |
